Japan has reached a new demographic milestone as its centenarian population has surpassed 100,000. Among the oldest citizens, 114-year-old Fuyo Kishimoto from Kyoto is recognized as the country's oldest woman. Meanwhile, 112-year-old Hikaru Kato from Kumamoto holds the title of the oldest man in Japan.
